TIME - The Great Equalizer

TIME - THE GREAT EQUALIZER - dispensed equally 24 hours per day – use it wisely and make it count !

TIME - "A continuum which lacks spatial dimensions and in which events succeed one another from past through present to future" - Noah Webster

The next time you catch yourself saying, "I didn't have enough time to do whatever....", stop yourself and think about it for a minute or two (don't do it too long now because time is ticking by). Is it really because you didn't have enough time or is it that you just didn't allocate enough time to do it.

At the other end of the spectrum, we've all had the profound experience of doing something and it seemed as if "time stood still". How do you explain this occurrence. Well, I think it was because this was something we really enjoyed doing and got so engrossed in it that we virtually "lost track of time".

Every day, we are confronted by tasks we have to do or need to do and tasks we should do. Whenever we complain about not having enough time to do a specific task, we need to evaluate it on our list of priorities. Was it something we had or needed to do (high priority) or something we should have done (low priority)? The key is deciding ahead of time where each task fits on our priority list or scale. Is it high or low? If high, we know what we have to do - we have to allocate or make time to do this task. If low, then we know that we can do it at our leisure or whenever we decide we have the time to do it.

I think we each have to develop this automatic, internal priority meter to measure the tasks at hand in order of importance or priority. Only then can we expect to place tasks in the proper sequencing queue. That's where a daily "'to do" list comes in handy. Especially, in business , we all know how invaluable a commodity time is - once gone we can never get it back. Therefore, it is imperative that we prioritize our tasks to accomplish our business goals to achieve success. Once we master this concept, in business as in our personal lives, we can apply it daily so that at the end of each day we don't have to say with regret, " I didn't have enough time to do whatever..." We can always do it tomorrow, or the next day or the next time...

We must learn to harness time and make it count because we never know when -- we may just be running out of time. All in all, we ultimately never know if we'll ever have enough time to do all the things we need to do and want to do in our lives. So starting now, let's make time count and do the things we have and want to do in our lives to make our earthly existence truly meaningful.
